WorldHost Training Services is comprised of a dedicated team of individuals who are passionate about customer service excellence. Our expertise and commitment allows us to create effective and world-class training solutions that contribute to building solid relationships with our partners.
Our core team is a four-person unit that operates out of Victoria, B.C., overseeing training development, administration, marketing, provincial and international licensing. WorldHost Training Services activities are also carried out by licensed Delivery Organizations across B.C., raising the bar of customer service province-wide.
Yavhel Velazquez - Manager
Yavhel oversees the day-to-day operations for the WorldHost Training Services team and was instrumental in the rebranding of the program and training activities for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. His key responsibilities include strategic direction, planning, public relations and marketing, and he enjoys visiting with the various partners involved with WorldHost Training Services. Yavhel joined the team in 2007, moving from Ottawa where he was previously Manager of Training and Development with the Canadian Tourism Human Resources Council. He is a certified Excellence Professional with the National Quality Institute of Canada.

Holly Frederickson – Training Advisor
Holly’s first delivery of a SuperHost® (now WorldHost) Fundamentals workshop was as a community trainer with Commonwealth Games volunteers in Victoria in 1994. Recruited to join WorldHost Training Services as a Master Trainer in 1998, she draws from a solid background in customer service and telecommunications. Holly co-authored the Sales Powered by Service and Solving Problems through Service workshops as well as various workshops customized for corporate clients. Most recently she delivered “Team 2010 Training” Train-the-Trainer sessions to industry partners in association with the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Holly believes learning is best when it's participatory and fun - and that's exactly the learning environment she creates. She is a positive and supportive coach and mentor for our trainers.

Cathy Buerk – Business Relations Coordinator
Cathy's key role at WorldHost Training Services is to successfully maintain relationships with clients in the Vancouver and Victoria area. Cathy is our newest team member and brings to the team an eclectic mix of work experiences such as a Product Services Coordinator and HelloB.C. Listings Clerk, Data Entry Clerk, Front Desk Clerk and Executive Assistant.
Cathy has a Bachelors Degree in Tourism Management, with distinction, and has worked for the Comox Valley Visitor Centre and Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Vancouver Island and the Nanaimo 2007 B.C. Seniors Games.
As well as a having a passion for travelling and backpacking, Cathy enjoys running half marathons and she is also a certified open water scuba diver.

Rhonda Teel – Network Coordinator
Rhonda has been a part of the WorldHost Training Services team since 2005 and is usually the first point of contact for prospective delivery organization licensees or facilitators. Her role includes organizing Train-the-Trainer workshops, assisting with WorldHost workshop materials and acting as the main liaison with the coordinators for the delivery network. Rhonda’s diverse background saw her working in law, radio broadcasting, telecommunications, human resources and tourism. She brings an enthusiastic and positive approach to every aspect of her position.
